This Spring, several Mooney students were honored for their artistic efforts! Below is a summary of their successes:
Scholastic Art And Writing
Scholastic Art and Writing is the longest running and most prestigious educational initiative supporting student art both literary and visual. This years silver key winners are Hannah Frisone, Dylan Herman, Lizzie Philibin and Julianna Montanez for Photography. Jenna Ronshak received a Gold Key for her Photography and her work was sent on to New York.

Governor’s Youth Art Exhibition
The Ohio Youth Governor’s Award now in it’s 47th year is dedicated to the education and artistic advancement or the talented young people in the State of Ohio. It encourages appreciation of the arts throughout Ohio. Jamie Sklenar’s photograph “Grips” was a Regional winner. It was selected from over 350 works from Region 11 and went on to the State judging where it was well received.
Diocesan Art Show
Each year the Diocese of Youngstown celebrates the Arts with the Diocesan Art Show. St Joseph the Provider hosted the show. on March 15. Winners in Mixed Media Gianna Viglotti 3rd and Allie Sayhoun.2nd Winners in photography Hannah Frisone 2nd Taylor Myers 3rd Taylor Martin 1st.
