Cardinal Mooney High School is excited to host Br. Guy Consolmagno, S.J., Director of the Vatican Observatory, on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 2-3 p.m. in the auditorium. Br. Guy will be speaking on the topic, “The Catholic Church and Science, Especially Astronomy.” This event is a special opportunity for our students to explore the intersection of faith and science from a renowned expert. Br. Guy, a Jesuit and an incredible speaker, and emphasizes that there is no contradiction between faith and science. Dr. Richard Mattiussi (Theology Dept.) and Mr. David Bernard (Science Dept.)—both co-leaders of the CMHS Astronomy Club—were instrumental in arranging this talk. Our Astronomy Club members are thrilled to engage with Br. Guy and ask their burning questions about the cosmos. We encourage everyone to check out this excellent introductory video.
