After completing her undergraduate degree, Anna then attended the prestigious Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. Of all the recognition she received during med school, Anna is most proud of her Gold Humanism Honor Society award for her community service. Her service work included being a big sister and tutor with the local Violence Intervention Program. She also traveled to Tijuana once a month to provide healthcare in “pop up” clinics and sat on the board for an HIV nonprofit. In addition, she worked at the student run clinic near Skid Row in Los Angeles, CA.

Anna is currently an Emergency Medicine Resident Physician at UCLA.

Mooney Reflection

Anna’s fondest memories of CMHS come from the lifelong friendships made, the student section at football games, and Mr. Butler’s art classes.

Anna started thinking about a medical career when she was at Mooney. The course offerings and block scheduling provided flexibility and allowed her to take the necessary college prerequisites. While at Mooney, she learned discipline and organized study habits. She refers to her teachers, like Mr. Butler, and her lacrosse coach, Dr. Boniface, as role models. They were significant positive influences on her life. They not only supported her achievements as an honors student, but also taught her the importance of thinking for herself and having confidence in her decisions, which have been crucial to her success over the recent years.

Anna truly cherishes her high school memories.
