YOUNGSTOWN – Following the success of last year’s debut event, Cardinal Mooney High School is thrilled to invite the community to its second annual Advent Celebration and Christmas Tree Lighting. The festive gathering, filled with holiday activities for families and children of all ages, will take place on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m. on the school campus.

Introduced in 2023, this new tradition quickly became a community favorite, bringing together students, families, and friends to celebrate the season of Advent with holiday cheer and family fun. This year’s festivities will kick off with a special wreath blessing led by Cardinal Mooney’s school chaplain, Father John Rovnak, followed by the lighting of the school’s Christmas tree – a moment that captivated attendees last year.

The event offers a wide range of seasonal activities, including ornament making, cookie decorating, and pictures with Santa, providing something for everyone to enjoy. Families are invited to share in the warmth of the holiday spirit, enjoy delicious treats, and create lasting memories.

“We’re thrilled to continue this new tradition that has quickly become a highlight of the year for our school and community,” Cardinal Mooney president and principal, Nick Beyer, said. “This celebration is a beautiful way to honor the Advent season while bringing together the Cardinal Mooney family and our extended community for a night of joy, reflection, and festive fun.”

All are welcome to attend this free, family-friendly event. Register here now! For more information, call the school office at 330-788-5007.
