(November 29-Youngstown, OH)- To celebrate Giving Tuesday, Cardinal Mooney High School along with an anonymous Alumna donor, contributed $500.00 to the Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley. This donation was made in honor of all Lumen Christi 8th graders in the Diocese of Youngstown and St. Paul’s School, Salem and St. Joseph the Provider School, Youngstown. 8th graders are unable to volunteer at the Mission due to age constraints, therefore Mooney wanted to make sure that these younger students would be represented in the annual Giving Tuesday event. CMHS Hospitality Team members presented the check to Crystal Eckman, Mission Ambassador, and toured the facility on Tuesday, November 29th. When asked about his impressions of the Mission, CMHS Senior Nick Blasko stated “I am impressed with the amount of services that those in need are offered. From college courses to financial literacy, the Mission is doing an outstanding job assisting members of the community.”
