Under Coaches Banks and Santor, Ken helped lead the Cardinals to the Division II State tournament as a sophomore where they placed 10th as a team and he finished 6th individually earning 2nd team all Ohio honors.  He was a two time Bishops Cup medalist and two time Sectional medalist.  He won the Ohio Optimist International Jr. Golf Championship in 2014 and qualified for the Optimist International World Championships at PGA National in Florida.  He was a Vindicator Valleys Greatest champion in 2013 and runner up this year at the 2016 Ohio Junior.

In addition, Ken, who attended St. Charles Elementary School before coming to Mooney, is a member of the National Honor Society maintaining a 3.95 GPA

When asked why he chose YSU, Ken stated “YSU has the best practice facilities (indoor and outdoor) of any school I was considering.  My goal since childhood has been to play Division I golf where competition is the highest.  YSU affords me that opportunity which I believe will make me a better player.  With the academic and athletic scholarships I have been blessed with it will eliminate the financial burden on my parents who have been paying for a private catholic education for the last 13 years. They deserve that after all the money and energy they have invested in my golf game over the last 10 years.”
