(December 9-Youngstown, OH)-On Saturday, December 10th from 9:00am to 4:00pm and Sunday, December 11th from 10:00am to 3:00pm, Cardinal Mooney High School will ‘take over’ Barnes & Noble (located at the Shops at Boardman Park, 381 Boardman-Poland Rd., Boardman) for the benefit of Akron Children’s Hospital of the Mahoning Valley.
CMHS students will host events throughout the weekend. Included are:
-Saturday and Sunday, all day, customers can have their gifts wrapped by CMHS students and ACHMV volunteers for a small fee which will be donated to the hospital’s programs.
-Saturday and Sunday, all day, a special Mooney Mocha coffee drink will be on sale at the Starbucks café within Barnes & Noble with a portion of each drink sold benefitting ACHMV.
-Saturday at 3:00pm the CMHS Choir will entertain shoppers with Christmas Carols.
-Saturday at 4:00pm a prize will be awarded to the CMHS student who created the winning window painting. Window paintings will have a Harry Potter and CMHS theme.
-Sunday from noon to 3:00pm the Mooney Mascot ‘the Cardinal’ will be on hand to pass out cookies to children during story time. The Mooney Speech & Debate Team will be reading “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie” at noon, 1:00pm and 2:00pm while B&N employees assist little ones with an associated activity.
