Congratulations to our CMHS Gold & Silver Key Winners! Quite a few of our Cardinals have won recognition for their artistic work as part of the Scholastic Art and Writing awards.Gold Key Winner CMHS Junior Ke’Asia Weeden will be featured tomorrow, January 23 Channel 21-WFMJ’s live broadcast at 6:50 a.m. inside the Solomon Gallery in Bliss Hall on the campus at YSU. She will be discussing her winning piece, a dramatic lighting portrait entitled “Open Minded Gaze”.

 

In addition to Ke’Asia, Cardinal Mooney’s Gold Key Winners are Jonathan Sears, Bella Beato, and Hannah Choi.

Silver Key Winners are Keegan Butler, Shanice St. Thomas, Bella Beato and Conchetta Rinaldi.

Honorable Mention Winners are Terrell Brown, Soonbee Hwang, Noah Pecchia, Giana

Vigliotti, Zach Perkins, Mia Stana, Novely Gasior, Sophie Roelandts, and Tatiana Tolson.

 

Since 1923, The Scholastic Art and Writing awards have recognized the vision , ingenuity, and talent of our nation’s youth and provided opportunities to celebrate. Gold Key winners from each region go on to be juried nationally in New York City. All work is on display at YSU in Bliss Hall. The Gold and Silver Key Award artworks will be in the Solomon Gallery and the Honorable Mention artworks will be on the 4th Floor. The works will be on display until January 29 , Monday- Saturday from 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. The Awards Ceremony will take place January 26,2019 at 12:00 p.m. in Bliss Hall’s Ford Theater.
