Our robust selection of Honors & AP classes showcases our dedication to high academic Standards. Each student at Cardinal Mooney is recognized as an individual with unique needs and Strengths. Incoming freshmen are assessed using the High School Placement Test, grade school records, parent input, and teacher recommendations to ensure they are placed In programs that best suit their abilities. Our personalized registration process allows students and parents to choose course levels tailored to the student’s capabilities in each subject area. With our rigorous academic offerings and personalized approach, Cardinal Mooney High School ensures that each student is well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities ahead.
Graduation requirements
English: 4 units
Mathematics: 4 units
Theology: 4 units
Science: 3 units
Social studies: 3 units
World languages: 2 units
Fine arts: 1 unit
Health: 1/2 units
Physical education: 1/2 units
Electives: 3 units
*Four credits in Mathematics passed in grades 9-12 (including one unit in Algebra Il) are required.
** This requirement may be adjusted for students who enter Cardinal Mooney after the ninth grade.
*** Science courses that qualify as a Physical Science credit include: Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, AP Chemistry, Physics, AP Physics, and Physical Science.
**** Class of 2028, 2 years of a foreign language will be required for graduation.
