YOUNGSTOWN — Dominic Pecchia, a 2017 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and founder of Impeccable Air, shared his inspiring journey with the school’s Merit Scholars at a luncheon Tuesday, emphasizing the value of education, innovation, and relationships in achieving success.
Pecchia, a 2021 graduate of Youngstown State University with a degree in mechanical engineering, captivated the audience with stories of his career path, including his groundbreaking work with 3D printing, his time as a NASA intern, and his entrepreneurial achievements.
During his internship with NASA, Pecchia contributed to the development of a prototype for the Mars Rover, an experience he described as a defining moment in his career. “The opportunity to work on something that could one day be on another planet reminded me of the power of curiosity and problem-solving,” he said.
In his talk, Pecchia stressed the importance of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) fields, highlighting their dynamic nature and the constant need for innovation. He noted that these fields aren’t just about solving today’s problems—they’re about discovering solutions for tomorrow.
As president of Impeccable Air, Pecchia has turned his passion for engineering and design into a thriving business focused on improving indoor air quality through advanced, filtered vent systems. His patented product, developed through a partnership with Home Depot, is already making an impact in the home improvement market.
Pecchia also shared his belief in the power of strong personal and professional relationships, a theme central to the Merit Scholars program. He told the students that their network is their greatest asset, and that the Mooney family is an incredible support system—use it to learn, grow, and give back.
The Merit Scholars program at Cardinal Mooney offers more than just financial support. Through luncheons like these, it connects students with accomplished alumni, giving them access to the Mooney network and invaluable opportunities for mentorship and inspiration.
For the students in attendance, Pecchia’s message was clear: Dream big, work hard, and never stop learning.
