YOUNGSTOWN — Cardinal Mooney High School students gathered Friday for a day centered on faith and service as they prepare for new service hour requirements launching in the 2025–26 school year.
The day began with a school-wide Mass and a keynote address from Michael Bernot of the West Side Catholic Center in Cleveland, who shared powerful reflections on the meaning of service and how students can use their unique gifts to help others.
Students then had the opportunity to meet with representatives from local organizations in the gym to explore ways they can get involved and make an impact in the community.
Special thanks to the following organizations for sharing their time and mission with our students:
Dorothy Day House, American Red Cross, Mill Creek MetroParks, Rich Center for Autism, Catholic Charities Regional Agency, YWCA Mahoning Valley, Briarfield Nursing Homes, F5RS Bunnies, Ursuline Sisters Young Adult Ministries, Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley, Animal Charity of Ohio, Habitat for Humanity, OH WOW!, Fairhaven Foundation and Purple Cat.
