Cardinal Mooney High School was transformed into Superhero High during its annual Science Night. The event welcomed grade-school students for an evening of hands-on experiments and heroic fun.
Young participants explored science through the lens of superhero training, rotating through interactive stations designed to spark curiosity and creativity.
At the Polymer Lab, students created their own version of Silly Putty — a sticky polymer designed to “trap villains” by mimicking superhero gadgets.
In the Launch Lab, students learned the principles behind rocket propulsion, while the Return to Earth Lab focused on safe landing techniques. The Ice Lab challenged future heroes to learn strategies for escaping extreme cold, simulating comic book-style “deep freezes.”
The action continued with Ready, Aim, Fire, a precision-targeting activity that taught the value of accuracy and control — key traits for any aspiring superhero.
After mastering each lab, participants graduated from superhero training, earning their own masks and capes during the Superhero Graduation ceremony. A surprise visit from the Easter Bunny added a festive spring touch to the evening, delighting younger guests.
Science Night at Mooney continues to be a signature event, combining education and imagination to inspire the next generation of innovators and defenders of truth and justice!
Thank you to all who attended!
